Clubs

ACM- The student chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery–we host industry tech talks, the annual department banquet, and other social events.

CPES- We are the Computer Engineering Society, a social and educational community for Computer Engineering majors.

CPGD- The Cal Poly Game Development Club (CPGD) is a student club dedicated to the design and development of video games.

CPLUG- We are CPLUG, the Cal Poly Linux Users Group. We’re both users and fans on the GNU/Linux Operating System, and we want you to be too. We have regular talks and meetings, as well as social events when the opportunity arises.

GSA- The Graduate Student Associate is a club for Computer Science graduate students, both incoming master’s students and those in the the 4+1 program. We host an every-other-weekly coffee hour, talks by researchers from other institutions, and prospective grad students.

Ignite- Ignite is a series of fast-paced talks in which presenters give 5-minute talks on a topic of their choosing. Talks are accompanied by 20 slides which auto-advance every 15 seconds.

WISH - WISH (Women Involved in Software and Hardware) is dedicated to providing a community of support for students, females in particular, in computing majors and minors.

White Hat- White Hat’s mission is to provide the tools, knowledge, skills and resources to make the internet a safer place by protecting personal computers, private data and information systems.

Other Engineering Student Organizations

AISES – Through its educational programs, AISES provides opportunities for American Indians and Native Alaskans to pursue studies in science, engineering, and technology arenas.
Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) – IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu is a unique membership organization dedicated to encouraging and recognizing excellence in the IEEE-designated fields of interest. HKN is the honors society for Computer Engineering majors.
IEEE – A non-profit organization, IEEE is the world’s leading professional association for the advancement of technology.
Robotics Club – The Cal Poly Robotics Club is an inter-disciplinary club focused on providing hands-on project experience and support for interested students.
Society of Black Engineers and Scientists (SBES) – SBES is part of the national organization, National Society Of Black Engineers (NSBE). Our mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) – The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Student Chapter has a commitment to the recruitment and retainment of Hispanic engineering and science students.
Society of Women Engineers (SWE) – The Cal Poly student chapter of the Society of Women Engineers strives to provide a voice for women that will encourage them to achieve their full potential as engineers and as leaders.
